Wireless Lavalier Microphone System Advice
There are 4 components to this system: transmitter, receiver, microphone and connecting cable (2 options)
The transmitter is the piece with the belt-clip on the back. Plug the locking 3.5mm end of the microphone into the top of the transmitter where it says MIC. Turn on the transmitter power by opening the front cover and pressing the power button for a couple of seconds. Clip the belt-pack onto the person you want to record and clip the microphone on their shirt about 4 inches below their chin.
The receiver has a mounting bracket on the back that fits into the shoe mount on the top of the camcorder. It comes with 2 different connecting cables depending on what camcorder you're using. For the DVX100B camcorder, plug the locking 3.5mm end into the top of transmitter where it says OUT. Connect the XLR end of the cable into mic input 2 on the right side of the camera just in front of the hand strap. For the DVD camcorder, plug the locking 3.5mm end into the top of the transmitter where it says OUT. Plug the other 3.5mm end of the cable into the mic input on the camera which is behind a plastic cover right underneath the lens. Take care to route the cable so it doesn't get into the picture.
